Refestramus drummer and bandleader Derek Ferguson is the subject of a new feature from digitalDrummer, tracing how the band’s electronic drum rig shapes the way Refestramus songs get written.
The piece covers Ferguson’s Roland TD-50 setup — paired with a TAMA Starclassic acoustic kit and Zildjian cymbals — and how it’s been central to the band’s process from day one: the drums on Refestramus’s first two albums are entirely TD-50, and even Morri’s Rock Boutique, tracked acoustically in a studio, was demoed completely on the kit first.
