Derek Ferguson on Arroe Collins Like It's Live

Derek Ferguson is the guest on Arroe Collins Like It’s Live, in a sixteen-minute conversation published under the headline “You Can’t Label Prog Rock.” It covers Morri’s Rock Boutique and the band’s appearance at ProgDay 2026, now a week away.

On the festival: “There’s a motivated energy in the band,” Derek says. “ProgDay is exactly the kind of listener-first crowd this band was built for.” He describes the album itself as “created to be heard at ProgDay.”

The episode listing sets out where the songs come from — vintage rock hardware, Hammond organ and distorted guitars, with lyrics drawing on Bulgakov, Kurosawa, Orthodox iconography and Slavic folklore, “all of it delivered with a refusal to take itself too seriously.”

Refestramus play Storybook Farm, Chapel Hill, North Carolina at 12:00 PM EDT on Saturday, September 5. The ProgDay lineup is Derek Ferguson, Mitch Lawrence (saxophone), Octarine Sky’s Jan Christiana (lead vocals, bass) and Dyanne Potter Voegtlin (keyboards, vocals), joined by guitarist Bob Wolkotte of Rocket Scientist and King Crimson tribute Interdiscipline.
